AYLING. — On 11 December, the Revd John Michael Ayling: Priest-in-Charge of Findon with Seaton, Adelaide (1967-71); Tutor of Patteson Theological Centre, Kohimarama, Melanesia (1971-72); Assistant Master of Adeyfield School, Hemel Hempstead (1972-77); Bushey Hall School (1978-91); Team Rector of Boscastle with Davidstow (1991-98); Rector of Boscastle with Davidstow, and Rural Dean of Stratton (1998-2002); Hon. Canon of Truro Cathedral (2001-02); aged 80.

BRUCE. — On 13 December, the Revd Francis Bernard Bruce: Assistant Curate of Sherborne Abbey, in Charge of St Paul’s, Sherborne (1959-61); Rector of Croston (1961-86); Vicar of Bibury with Winson and Barnsley (1986-95); aged 87.

HOWITT. — On 2 December, the Revd John Leslie Howitt: Chaplain of Rampton Hospital (1966-71); Curate-in-Charge of Treswell with Cottam (1968-71); Chaplain of HM Prison Cardiff (1971-75); HM Borstal Dover (1975-79); HM Prison Dartmoor (1979-83); HM Prison Canterbury (1983-87); HM Detention Centre Aldington (1983-87); Vicar of Shobnall (1988-94); aged 88.

SAUNDERS. — On 11 December, the Revd David Saunders: Vicar of New Bentley (1960-67); Perpetual Curate of All Saints’, Great Grimsby (1967-69); Vicar (1970-77): Caistor and Clixby (1978-88); Priest-in-Charge of Grasby with Owmby and Searby (1978-94); Chaplain of Caistor Hospital (1978-94); Vicar of Dunholme (1988-92); Priest-in-Charge of Welton and Dunholme with Scothern (1992-94); aged 89.
