The Bishop of Chichester is seeking to appoint an Archdeacon of Chichester. The Archdeacon will play a pivotal role within a dynamic senior team which serves a large and demanding Diocese. The Archdeaconry is largely rural but also incorporates the City of Chichester and the coastal towns of Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis where there is considerable social deprivation.
Applications are invited from experienced singers. Free housing in the beautiful Mediaeval Vicars’ Close, with a competitive salary and fees package.
The Archbishops’ Council has identified the need to increase the number and diversity of candidates for lay and ordained ministry, and to encourage younger candidates. Hence, there is a need to build a culture of encouraging and nurturing vocation and of proactive recruitment.
The Bishop of Gloucester and Patrons seek to appoint an engaging and inspiring priest to this benefice of three churches with much potential and whose mission is to be people ‘joyfully sharing the love of Christ for the common good’.
