The Bishop of Chichester is seeking to appoint an Archdeacon of Chichester. The Archdeacon will play a pivotal role within a dynamic senior team which serves a large and demanding Diocese. The Archdeaconry is largely rural but also incorporates the City of Chichester and the coastal towns of Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis where there is considerable social deprivation.
The post would suit a fit an active recently retired, or soon to retire, chaplain who wishes to continue a worthwhile part-time ministry beyond the normal retirement age, or a chaplain whose circumstances enable him/her to exercise this ministry.
We are seeking an incumbent with a strong faith, who is a skilled facilitator and will work collaboratively with a well-established and talented team.
We are seeking a person of professional experience, musical excellence, and demonstrated maturity in working with choirs and clergy who will also bring energy, ideas, and vision for the future development of our established music programme.
This is a new senior role for the development of Christian communities, pioneer ministry and fresh expressions including co-ordination and oversight of our church planting projects in strategic mission priority areas.
