Archdeacon steps down

THE Ven. Stuart Bain, Archdeacon of Sunderland, in Durham diocese, since 2002, and Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of the Boldons, in that diocese, since 2013, is to be Canon Provost of Sunderland Minster. He has held posts in the diocese since 1980.


ADAMOLEKUN. The Revd Abimbola Adamolekun, NS Assistant Curate of St Michael and St George with St Stephen and St Thomas, Shepherd’s Bush (London), to be part-time Chaplain of HM Prison Wandsworth (Southwark).

ALLDRITT. The Revd Richard Alldritt, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of the Holy Sepulchre with St Andrew the Great, Cambridge (Ely), to be Vicar of St Thomas’s, Oakwood (London).

BEVERLEY. The Revd Anne Beverley, NS Assistant Curate of Holy Trinity and of St Peter, South Shore, Blackpool, to be NS Vicar designate of Wesham and Treales (Blackburn).

BURRIDGE. The Revd Richard Burridge, Canon Theologian and Sarum Canon of Salisbury Cathedral (Salisbury), and Dean and Professor of Biblical Interpretation, of King’s College, London, now also NS Assistant Curate of St Mary-le-Strand with St Clement Danes (London).

CARTWRIGHT. The Revd Michael Cartwright, Chaplain of Beeston School, to be Interim Priest-in-Charge of the Matlaske Benefice: Barningham with Matlaske with Baconsthorpe with Plumstead with Hempstead, and Edgefield, and Saxthorpe with Corpusty (Norwich).

CORCORAN. The Revd Michael Corcoran, Assistant Curate of Brunswick, now also Chaplain of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (Manchester).

DOWNES. The Revd Gregory Downes, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of St Michael-le-Belfrey with St Cuthbert, York (York), to be Director of Ministerial Training of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford (Oxford).

FLINTOFT. The Revd Ian Flintoft, Director of Discipleship and Ministry for Mission, and Hon. Canon of Newcastle Cathedral, now also NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Cowgate (Newcastle).

FRANKUM. The Revd Matthew Frankum, Vicar of St Luke’s, Bath, now also Assistant Rural Dean of Bath (Bath & Wells).

GIRLING. The Revd Stephen Girling, Abbey Missioner of Bath Abbey with St James (Bath & Wells), to be Acting Rector.


HARDY. The Revd Alison Hardy, Rector of Stand, and Area Dean of Radcliffe and Prestwich, (Manchester), to be Priest-in-Charge of Embleton with Rennington and Rock, and Area Dean of Alnwick (Newcastle).

HAYHOE. The Revd John Hayhoe, formerly Vicar of Geraldine (Christchurch, Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia), to be Rector of the Dunkeswell Mission Community: Broadhembury, Dunkeswell, Luppitt, Plymtree, Sheldon, and Upottery (Exeter).
