New duties: Canon Joanna Penberthy

THE Bishop of Makamba, the Rt Revd Martin Blaise Nyaboho, was elected Archbishop of Burundi during 2016; the Bishop of Argen­tina, the Rt Revd Gregory Venables, was elected Primate of the Anglican Church of South America.

Other episcopal appointments during the year included those of Dr Michael Ipgrave as Bishop of Lichfield, translated from Wool­wich; Dr Steven Croft as Bishop of Oxford, translated from Sheffield; the Revd Jennifer Baskerville Bur­rows as Bishop of Indianapolis; and Canon Joanna Penberthy as Bishop of St Davids.

The Ven. Janet McFarlane as Bishop of Repton; Canon Jo Bailey Wells as Bishop of Dorking; Canon Mark Tanner as Bishop of Berwick; the Ven. Mark Ashcroft as Bishop of Bolton; and the Ven. Robert Springett as Bishop of Tewkesbury.
