App sales on the rise

01 July 2016

APPS produced by Church House Publishing have now been downloaded more than 200,000 times, it was announced this week.

Downloads of the most popular, the Daily Prayer app, were 300 per cent up on the previous year. It now has 12,500 monthly users, enough to fill St Paul’s Cathedral five times over. App downloads now account for around one in five Church House Publishing products.

The CHP apps, which now include a new Time to Pray app, have been developed by Aimer Media Ltd for Hymns Ancient & Modern, which has been managing the publishing contract with Church House Publishing for the past seven years.

The marketing manager of Hymns Ancient & Modern, Michael Addison, said: “Our app successes are a terrific example of reaching out to engage, equip, and inspire Christians worldwide.” He spoke of other digital developments in the pipeline, among them Windows and Amazon Kindle versions of all the apps, and a desktop version of the Lectionary app.

Hymns Ancient & Modern also publishes the Church Times.
