BAILEY. - On 22 April, the Revd Dr Edward Ian Bailey: Assistant Chaplain of Marlborough College (1965-68); Rector of Winterbourne (1970-2006); Priest-in-Charge of Winterbourne Down (1975-81); Rural Dean of Stapleton (1977-83); Chaplain of Frenchay Hospital, Bristol (1979-84); Hon. Canon of Bristol Cathedral (1984-2006); Warden of Readers (1995-2003); Visiting Professor of Middlesex University since 1997; aged 79.

BATES. - On 20 April, the Revd Derek Alvin Bates: Vicar of Shebbear (1967-71); Rector of Buckland Filleigh (1967-71); Highampton with Sheepwash (1971); Coates (1972-80); Clovelly (1980-92); Vicar of Woolfardisworthy and Bucks Mills (1980-92); 88.

BOWERING. - On 25 April, the Ven. Michael Ernest Bowering: Vicar of Brayton with Barlow (1964-72); Saltburn-by-the-Sea (1972-81); Rural Dean of Selby (1971-72); Yorkshire Diocesan Secretary of Mission and Evangelism (1981-87); Canon Residentiary of York Minster (1981-87); Archdeacon of Lindisfarne (1987-2000); aged 89.

MARCHANT. - On 15 April, the Revd Dr Ronald Albert Marchant: Vicar of Laxfield (1959-92); Rural Dean of Hoxne (1973-78); Hon. Canon of St Edmundsbury Cathedral (1975-92); Priest-in-Charge of Wilby with Brundish (1986-92); aged 88.
