From the Revd Michael Hopkins

Sir, — Glyn Paflin (Diary, 31 July) ponders whether the “high-church” worship at Grafton Square Congregational Church, Clapham, was unique. It wasn’t. There were small pockets of this kind of worship across Nonconformity. The most famous and most extreme example was King’s Weigh House Congregational Church in Mayfair under the ministry of W. E. Orchard, who celebrated Benediction each week.
