New archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Hackney, in the diocese of London, is to be the Revd Elizabeth Adekunle, Chaplain of St John's College, Cambridge, since 2011. She was formerly Interim Priest of St Luke's, Homerton, in east London. She succeeds the Ven. Rachel Treweek, appointed Bishop of Gloucester.

 

Archdeacon retires

THE Ven. Christopher Long, Archdeacon of Ferns, Waterford, Lismore and Cashel, in Cashel, Waterford, Lismore, Ossory, Ferns, & Leighlin diocese, since 2008, and Rector of Enniscorthy with Clone, Clonmore, Monart and Templescobin, in the same diocese, since 2005, will retire on 27 July.

 

BOLTON. The Revd Peter Bolton, Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Holy Trinity, Ilkeston, and of St Laurence, Long Eaton (Derby): 1 October.

BRIXTON. The Revd Corinne Brixton, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Buckhurst Hill (Chelmsford): 30 September.

CANNELL. The Revd Anthea Cannell, Priest-in-Charge of Roydon (Chelmsford): 23 August.

EGERTON. The Revd Susan Egerton, OLM Assistant Curate of Capel, in the Surrey Weald Team Ministry (Guildford).

EVANS. The Revd Edward Evans, Vicar of Laleston and Merthyr Mawr with Penyfai, Area Dean of Beidgend, and Hon. Canon of Llandaff Cathedral (Llandaff): 30 September.

FRUEHWIRTH. The Revd Robert Fruehwirth, Director of the Julian Centre, Norwich: 30 June, and Hon. Assistant Curate of St Peter Mancroft, Norwich: 12 July (Norwich).

KIMBER. The Revd Stuart Kimber, Vicar of St Andrew's, Westcliff (Chelmsford): 31 August.

KNOWERS. The Revd Stephen Knowers, Area Dean of Croydon Addington, remaining Vicar of St John's, Shirley (Southwark).

MALES. The Revd Dr Jeanne Males, Vicar of Addington (Southwark).

MORRIS. The Revd Robert Morris, Team Rector in the Kings Norton Team Ministry, and Hon. Canon of Birmingham Cathedral (Birmingham): 23 August, becoming Hon. Canon Emeritus.

PENNIECOOKE. The Revd Dorothy Penniecooke, NSM of the Ascension, Balham Hill (Southwark).

SEYMOUR. The Revd Brian Seymour, OLM Assistant Curate of Ottershaw (Guildford): 9 July.

SMITH. The Revd Geoffrey Smith, Rector of St John the Baptist, St Gabriel and St Nicholas, Loughton (Chelmsford): 31 July.

WHITAKER. The Revd Anthony Whitaker, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Churt and Hindhead (Guildford): 31 October.

WOOD. The Revd Beryl Wood, Team Rector in the Gaywood Team Ministry, and Hon. Canon of Norwich Cathedral (Norwich): 17 August.
