Archdeacon to retire

THE Ven. Michael Harley, Archdeacon of Winchester, since 2009, will retire on 30 November, becoming Archdeacon Emeritus, and Canon Emeritus of Winchester.

 

Acting archdeacons

THE diocese of West Yorkshire & the Dales has announced two Interim Acting Archdeacons: the Revd Simon Cowling, Rector of Bolton Abbey since 2013, for Richmond and Craven, and the Revd Alistair Helm, Vicar of Manningham since 2013, for Bradford.

 

ALLIES. The Revd Dr Lorna Allies, formerly Priest-in-Charge of Rackheath and Salhouse, to be house-for-duty Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Acle and Bure to Yare (Norwich).

BALLARD. The Revd Duncan Ballard, Rector of Hampton-in-Arden with Bickenhill, Chaplain of Birmingham Airport, and Area Dean of Solihull, to be also Priest-in-Charge of Barston (Birmingham).

BARNETT. The Revd Lisa Barnett, Priest-in-Charge of Scaynes Hill (Chichester), now Vicar.

BELL. The Revd David Bell, Team Vicar in the Watling Valley Team Ministry (Oxford), now Vicar of Silsoe, Pulloxhill and Flitton (St Albans).

BRIGGS. The Revd William Briggs, Senior Associate Priest of St David’s Cathedral, Hobart, Tasmania (Tasmania, Australia), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) in the St Nicolas’s, Newbury, and Speenhamland Team Ministry (Oxford).

BROAD. The Revd David Broad, Rector of Abbotts Ann and Upper Clatford and Goodworth Clatford (Winchester), now house-for-duty Assistant Curate of St Michael’s, in St Anne and St Michael and St Thomas At Cliffe with All Saints’, Lewes (Chichester).

BROWELL. The Revd Maureen Browell, Vicar of of Hoylandswaine and Silkstone with Stainborough, to be also Priest-in-Charge of Dodworth and of Cawthorne, and to be Vicar designate of Silkstone with Stainborough, Hoylandswaine, Dodworth and Cawthorne (West Yorkshire & the Dales).

BUTLAND. The Revd Cameron Butland, Rector of Grasmere, to be Chaplain to the Bishop of Carlisle, remaining Diocesan Spirituality Adviser, and Hon. Canon of Carlisle Cathedral (Carlisle).

CHANDRA. The Revd Kevin Chandra, Chaplain of St Peter’s School, Exeter, to be Vicar of the Hukely Mission Community: Bampton, Morebath, Clayhanger, Petton and Huntsham (Exeter).

CHEDZEY. The Revd Derek Chedzey, Canon Residentiary designate of Bristol Cathedral, to be also Diocesan Canon, and Head of Ministry Development (Bristol).

COOPER. The Revd James Cooper, Rector of Cessnock (Newcastle, Australia), to be Priest-in-Charge of Donnington, and Lead Chaplain of St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Chichester (Chichester).

CORLEY. The Revd Samuel Corley, Priest-in-Charge designate in the Leeds City Team Ministry, to be also Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral (West Yorkshire & the Dales).

DISLEY. The Revd Edith Disley, Priest-in-Charge of Leesfield (Manchester), to be Vicar.
