A tonic: update on charitable activities

From Miss Primrose Peacock

Sir, - The project that you described ("Small steps make a big difference", News, 30 January) has now been passed to Caritas, Tirana, for monitoring, at the suggestion of the Tirana Roman Catholic bishop.

Our contribution exceeded expectations by four times, and has really altered the Ademi family's lives through education, employment, and medical care. A £100 donation from a Church Times reader became their "Easter egg".

Now we are returning to fund-raising for the ACA sewing-machine scheme. Each machine costs £75 and offers "a living". Money for the first seven in 2015 is now in hand from donations and philatelic sales. No. 7 has been funded by a devout Anglo-Catholic, from the money saved during Lent by giving up gin.
