An inclusive devil, too

19 June 2015

From Mr D. I. Lloyd

Sir, - An explanation that the gender of God is male has it that men have brought this about. The Revd Emma Percy, Chaplain of Trinity College, Oxford, and others think that sometimes God is rightly referred to as "she". In the interests of consistency, should not the prejudice that the devil is always male be removed, and the devil sometimes be referred to as "she"?
