CHURCHES in the benefice of Hartshead, Hightown, Roberttown, and Scholes, in the diocese of West Yorkshire & the Dales, have sent more than 60 teddy bears and £375 of cash donations through Project Paddington, for child refugees. The project was set up by Joy French, of All Saints’, Ecclesall, in Sheffield, in September (News, 25 September).
The Vicar, the Revd Richard Burge, said that the collection was launched between two Sundays of prayer for refugees. The project enabled the community to “make a difference”, he said.
