THEY held their first Angel Festival just before Christmas, and
the congregation and various community groups at St Anne's,
Calmore, in Winchester diocese, produced more than
380 angels of all shapes and sizes. Those creating them ranged in
age from two to 92, and they used a whole range of materials,
including paper, card, recycled oddments, glitter, carved wood,
withies, flowers, Perspex, and even kitchen utensils.
Entertainment during the festival was provided by the newly
formed St Anne's Junior Choir Club, and activities included
decorating angel-shaped biscuits, and making three-dimensional
silver angels. Needless to say, the cake stall and raffles were
very popular, and there was a steady supply of refreshments to
all.
