BOWERING. - On 11 December, the Revd John Anthony Bowering: Succentor of Chelmsford Cathedral (1962); Precentor (1963); Vicar of Brampton Bierlow (1964-69); Norton Lees (1970-80); Tickhill with Stainton (1980-97); Rural Dean of West Doncaster (1987-92); aged 80.

HAWKINS. - On 10 January, the Revd Francis John Hawkins: Lecturer and Tutor of Chichester Theological College (1964-73); Vice-Principal (1973-75); Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, East Grinstead (1975-81); Sidlesham (1981-89); Canon Residentiary and Treasurer of Chichester Cathedral (1981-2001); Chichester Diocesan Director of Ordinands (1989-2001); Custos and Chaplain of St Mary's Hospital, Chichester (2001-11); aged 78.

HAWTHORN. - On 15 December, the Revd Thomas Russell Hawthorn: Sub-Chaplain of HM Prison Blundeston (1986-94); aged 96.

JONES. - On 27 December, the Revd Maldwyn Lloyd Jones: Chaplain of All Saints', Nichteroy, Brazil (1946-48); Head Master of St Paul's School, Sao Paulo (1948-50); Chaplain of Christ Church Cathedral, Port Stanley (1950-51); Royal Navy Chaplain (1952-68); Chaplain of Shattuck School, Faribault, Minnesota (1968-70); London Nautical School (1971-72); aged 97.

MOORE. - On 9 January, the Revd Leonard Richard Moore: Assistant Curate of Stevenage, in charge of St Peter's, Broadwater (1954-60); Vicar of All Saints', Bedford (1960-68); Assistant Master of Hendon Grammar School (1968-72); Curate-in-Charge of Holy Trinity, Bedford (1970-74); Assistant Master of Hastingbury School, Kempston (1972-87); Hon. Assistant Curate of Cardington (1987-91); aged 92.

MORLEY. - On 9 December, the Revd Peter Morley: Chaplain of the Shrewsbury Hospital, Sheffield (1985-87); Vicar of Worsbrough Common, and Chaplain of Mount Vernon Hospital, Barnsley (1987-93); Rector of Harthill and Thorpe Salvin (1993-99); aged 78.

VARNEY. - On 21 December, the Revd Donald James Varney: NSM of Liss (1986-2005); aged 79.

WOOD. - On 6 January, the Revd Edward Francis Wood: Assistant Curate of Delaval, in charge of New Hartley (1964-67); Curate-in-Charge of St Mark's Conventional District, Shiremoor (1967-68); Vicar of Shiremoor (1968-78); Newcastle Diocesan Adviser on Broadcasting, and Assistant Curate of St George's, Jesmond (1978-82); Assistant Curate of Epiphany, Newcastle (1982-93); aged 86.
