Archdeacon retires

THE Ven. John Hawley, Archdeacon of Blackburn, in that diocese, will retire on 31 July. Before his present appointment, he had held posts in York, Bradford, Sheffield, and Wakefield dioceses.


BENNET. The Revd Mark Bennet, Team Rector in the Thatcham Team Ministry, now also Area Dean of Newbury (Oxford).

BUTLAND. The Revd Godfrey Butland, Team Rector in the Mossley Hill Team Ministry (Liverpool), to be Team Rector designate of the Cockermouth Area Team Ministry (Carlisle).

COWLING. The Revd Simon Cowling, Rector of Bolton Abbey, to be also Chair of the Diocesan Advisory Committee (West Yorkshire & the Dales).

CRUICKSHANK. The Revd Jonathan Cruickshank, Vicar of St Peter-in-Thanet (Canterbury), to be Rector of Mamble with Bayton, Rock with Heightington with Far Forest (Worcester).

EADON. The Revd Benjamin Eadon, Assistant Curate of St Chad's, Sunderland, now Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Durrington (Chichester).

EDY. The Revd Robert Edy, Hon. Priest-in-Charge of Ducklington, and Deputy Head Master of Henry Box School, Witney (Oxford), to be Chaplain of Rendcomb College, Cirencester (Gloucester).

FORD. The Revd Richard Ford, NS Assistant Curate (Assistant Priest) in the Sanderstead Team Ministry, to be NS Assistant Priest of St Francis and St Mary of Nazareth, West Wickham (Southwark).

GARVIE. The Revd Peter Garvie, Assistant Curate of St Mary and St Peter, Sunderland (Durham), now Royal Navy Chaplain.

GILES. The Revd Anthony Giles, Priest-in-Charge of High Wych and Gilston with Eastwick to be Rector, remaining Rural Dean of Bishop's Stortford (St Albans).

HAMPTON. The Revd Alison Hampton, Mission Direct in Escuela Bombita, Dominican Republic, and formerly Chaplain of Shakespeare Hospice, Stratford-on-Avon (Coventry), to be Vicar of St Mark's, Millfield, and Pallion (Durham).

HEALE. The Revd Dr Nicholas Heale, Priest-in-Charge of Skerton (Blackburn), to be Vicar.

HUXLEY. The Revd Craig Huxley, Assistant Curate of Hackington, now Assistant Curate of Goudhurst with Kilndown (Canterbury).

McLEOD. The Revd David McLeod, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of St Sebastian's, Wokingham, now Vicar of Greenham (Oxford).

McMULLON. The Revd Andrew McMullon, Vicar of Sedbergh, Cautley and Garsdale, to be also Priest-in-Charge of Firbank, Howgill and Killington Carlisle).

MELLOR-SMITH. The Revd Victoria Mellor-Smith, Assistant Curate of St Nicholas's, Durham (Durham), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of the Ray Valley (Oxford).

MILLER. The Revd Dr Andrew Miller, Assistant Curate of Barnard Castle with Whorlton, to be Vicar of Tanfield with Burnopfield and Dipton (Durham).

MONEY. The Revd John Money, Royal Navy Chaplain, now Chaplain of 30 Commando, IX Group, Royal Marines (Royal Naval Chaplaincy Service).

MOUGHTIN-MUMBY. The Revd Dr Sharon Moughtin-Mumby, NS Assistant Curate of St George with St Alphege and St Jude, Southwark, to be NSM (Assistant Priest) of St Peter's, Walworth (Southwark).

OLSWORTH-PETER. The Revd Edward Olsworth-Peter, Vicar of Holy Trinity with St Augustine, Sydenham, to be Fresh Expressions of Church and Young Adults Adviser (Ely).

RANDLE-BISSELL. The Revd Alexander Randle-Bissell, Assistant Curate of Eastern Green (Coventry), to be Vicar of Pastrow (Winchester).

SHAW. The Revd Andrew Shaw, NSM (Associate Priest) of the Waterside Parishes of Hambleton, Out Rawcliffe and Preesall, and of Stalmine with Pilling (Blackburn), to be Vicar of both.

SOUTHERN. The Rt Revd Hum- phrey Southern, Bishop of Repton (Derby), now also Hon. Assistant Bishop (Oxford).

THACKRAY. The Revd John Thackray, Senior Chaplain of King's School, Rochester, Hon. Priest Vicar of Rochester Cathedral (Rochester), and Hon. Minor Canon of Canterbury Cathedral (Canterbury), to be half-time Priest-in-Charge of St Mary at the Elms, Ipswich (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

THORNE. The Revd Margaret Thorne, Vicar of St Mary's, Headington, now Rector of Chinnor, Sydenham, Aston Rowant and Crowell (Oxford).

WEATHERSTONE. The Revd Timothy Weatherstone, Team Vicar in the Barnham Broom and Upper Yare Team Ministry (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), to be Team Rector.

WILLIS. The Revd Paul Willis, Team Vicar in the High Wycombe Team Ministry, now Team Vicar in the Loddon Reach Team Ministry (Oxford).

YOUNGMAN. The Revd Christopher Youngman, Assistant Curate of St Mary's, Radcliffe-on-Trent, and Shelford (Southwell & Nottingham), to be Vicar of White- friars, Rushden (Peterborough).


The following to be Hon. Chaplains: the Revd Thomas Donaghey (Accrington Squadron); the Revd Michael Fryer (Hawker Blackburn Squadron).


GRIFFIN. The Revd Judith Griffin, Assistant Curate of Holy Trinity, Brompton, with St Paul's, Onslow Square, and St Augustine's, South Kensington (London), has withdrawn her acceptance of the post of Macmillan and Palliative Care Chaplain of Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Trust (Southwark).
