Liverpool’s new archdeacons

 

THREE Archdeacons-designate have been announced for the new archdeaconries in the diocese of Liverpool (Gazette, 26 June).

The Archdeacon-designate of Wigan and West Lancashire is the Revd Dr Jennifer McKenzie, from the diocese of Virginia, in the Episcopal Church in the United States. Her experience includes interim ministry in parishes that had been involved in disputes over property withdrawn from the Episcopal Church.

The Archdeacon-designate of St Helens and Warrington is the Revd Roger Preece, Vicar of Bowdon in the diocese of Chester.

The Archdeacon-designate of Knowsley and Sefton is the Revd Pete Spiers, Vicar of St Luke’s, Great Crosby, in Liverpool diocese, and an Hon. Canon of Liverpool Cathedral.

It is expected that they will be collated on 14 November once the legal processes have been completed.

 

ASHWORTH. The Revd Vivien Ashworth, Priest-in-Charge of Lostock and of St Bede’s, Bolton le Moors, Morris Green (Manchester) to be Guardian of the Pilsdon At Malling Community.

BALL. The Revd Stephen Ball, Rector of the Canalside Benefice (Salisbury), to be Priest-in-Charge of Sherfield-on-Loddon and Stratfield Saye with Hartley Wespall with Stratfield Turgis and Bramley (Winchester).

BELL. The Revd David Bell, NS Assistant Curate of Hampton Hill (London), now NS Assistant Priest of All Saints’, Kingston, in the Kingston Team Ministry (Southwark).

BIGGS. The Revd Philip Biggs, Priest-in-Charge of St Cuthbert’s, Lytham (Blackburn), to be House-for-Duty Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of St Neot and Warleggan in St Neot and Warleggan with Cardynham (Truro).

BINNS. The Revd Catherine Binns, Bolton Archdeaconry Officer for Self-Supporting Ministers, to be Chaplain of the Royal Bolton Hospital, remaining NSM of Stand, and Assistant Curate of Hillock and Unsworth (Manchester).

BUSH. The Revd Caspar Bush, Assistant Curate of Perranzabuloe and Crantock with Cubert, to be Team Rector in the Redruth with Lanner and Treleigh Team Ministry (Truro).

CASSIDY. The Revd Dr Ronald Cassidy, formerly Rector of St Lawrence’s, Denton, and Hon. Canon of Manchester Cathedral, to be Area Dean of Stretford (Manchester).

CAVALCANTI. The Revd Joabe Cavalcanti, Vicar of St Barnabas’s, Mitcham (Southwark), to be also Hon. Canon of the Cathedral of the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

CLEPHANE. The Revd Alexander Clephane, NSM of Flixton, and Manchester Archdeaconry Officer for Self-Supporting Ministers, to be also Area Dean of Stretford (Manchester)

CLIFFORD. The Revd Bruce Clifford, NS Associate Priest of St George’s, Gloucester, with Whaddon (Gloucester), to be Vicar.

DOTCHIN. The Revd Andrew Dotchin, Rector of Whitton and Thurleston with Akenham, to be Priest-in-Charge of St John the Baptist with St Edmund, Felixstowe (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).
