Dr Idowu-Fearon commissioned: the Most Revd Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon was commissioned as General Secretary of the Anglican Communion on Friday last week, at a packed Chapel of St Andrew at the Anglican Communion Office. The service was presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who described Dr Idowu-Fearon as “a giant in the Anglican Communion”. He was not being commissioned as a “Grand Inquisitor”, charged with monitoring conformity with “dogmatic statements”, Archbishop Welby said, but with spotting any “absence of joy”, and leading the lost to the face of Christ
