Dean to retire 

THE Very Revd Michael Sadgrove, Dean of Durham Cathedral, in Durham diocese, since 2003, will retire on 31 December; from 27 September, he will be on sabbatical leave. Before his present appoint­ment, he was Provost of Sheffield Cathedral, in Sheffield diocese, from 1995, and Dean from 2000, and before that he had held appointments in Oxford, Salisbury, Newcastle, and Coventry dioceses.



ALEXANDER. The Revd Nicholas Alexander, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of St Peter in Eastgate, Lincoln (Lincoln), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of St Mary and St Peter, Bury St Edmunds (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

BLAKE. The Revd Ian Blake, Priest-in-Charge of St Paul’s, Thornton Heath (Southwark), to be Vicar of Holy Trinity, Skirbeck (Lincoln).

BRAND. The Revd Richard Brand, Team Rector in the Market Harborough — Little Bowden with Lubenham and Great Bowden Team Ministry, and Area Dean of Gartree I and of Gartree II, and Convener of the Welland Valley Mission Partnership: Welham, Glooston and Cranoe and Stonton Wyville; the Langtons and Shangton; and the Market Harborough — Little Bowden with Lubenham and Great Bowden Team Ministry, to be also Hon. Canon of Leicester Cathedral (Leicester).

CAIN. The Revd Frank Cain, Vicar of New Brighton (Chester), to be Team Rector in the Halewood and Hunts Cross Team Ministry (Liverpool).

CORLEY. The Revd Samuel Corley, Canon Precentor of Bradford Cathedral, to be Priest-in-Charge in the Leeds City Team Ministry (West Yorkshire & the Dales).

CROSSMAN. The Revd Manette Crossman, Assistant Curate of Haughley with Wetherden and Stowupland, to be Vicar of Great Barton and Thurston (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).


CULLENS. The Revd Lynne Cullens, Assistant Curate in the Congleton Team Ministry, to be Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Sandbach Heath with Wheelock (Chester).

FLENLEY. The Revd Benjamin Flenley, Rector of Bentworth, Lasham, Medstead and Shalden (Winchester), to be house-for-duty Assistant Curate of Quantock Towers (Bath & Wells).
