From the Revd Sam Allberry, Canon Gavin Ashenden, the Revd Nigel Atkinson, and others

Sir, - There is obviously considerable excitement on the part of the 113,000 or so members of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) on the appointment of their second Archbishop, the Most Revd Foley Beach (News, 27 June).

We wish to join the Archbishop of Canterbury in congratulating ACNA on Archbishop Foley's election, and assure them of our good wishes and prayers as they continue to spread the gospel and plant churches across the United States.

We long for the day when the Church of England will recognise ACNA churches as genuinely Anglican, and that we may join together in the great task of renewing the Anglican Church to spread the apostolic gospel of repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ.
