CSI renews campaign to protect and champion girls

INCIDENTS of violence against young women and girls have prompted the Church of South India to renew its campaign for the Girl Child, the Anglican Communion News Service reported on Monday. Initiatives will include training members to identify and report instances of violation and abuse to the authorities.

Archbishop in Jerusalem title restored

THE Bishop of the diocese in Jerusalem is to bear the title of Archbishop in Jerusalem. The decision was made by the synod of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, a province of the Anglican Communion, on Thursday of last week. The Presiding Bishop of the Province is also to bear the title of Archbishop during his time as Primate.

Woman bishop appointed to job in the Church of England

A WOMAN BISHOP has been appointed to a post in the Church of England.The Rt Revd Jana Jeruma-Grinberga, a former Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain, has been appointed as Anglican chaplain in Riga, Latvia, in the diocese in Europe. A service of institution was due to have taken place at St Saviour's, Riga, on 30 October. The Lutheran Church in Great Britain entered into the Porvoo Communion in September.
