Bishop Sengulane retires after 38 years

THE Bishop of Lebombo, in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, the Rt Revd Dinis Sengulane, retired this week, having been consecrated in 1976. He is the longest-serving bishop in the Anglican Communion.


Anglicans accuse Dr Jefferts Schori of misconduct

THE Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States, Dr Katharine Jefferts Schori, has been accused of misconduct by a group of Anglicans who had seceded from the Church. The American Anglican Fellowship has written to the Intake Officer of the Church, alleging that Dr Jefferts Schori had violated episcopal canon law in her pursuit of legal action to recover property taken by Episcopalian congregations that had aligned with other Anglican Churches.


'Let more Syrians in' says Lord Williams

THE former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Williams has called on the Government to work harder to provide for Syrian refugees. Writing in The Independent on Tuesday,Lord Williams welcomed the arrival of the first Syrian refugees this week. He also urged the public to put pressure on the Government for more humanitarian action on the Syrian refugee crisis.
