That's the way to do it: Punch and Judy, painted by L. S. Lowry in 1943, was sold for £962,500 at an auction at Sotheby's on Tuesday. The painting was once owned by the Revd Geoffrey Bennett, who became a friend of the painter while working at the London and County Westminster Bank in Manchester
