"THERE are not many people who know what it's like to be a
mother or father of multiples," Amanda Williams says. She has
19-month-old twins, as well as four-year-old Jessica. "For a start,
you need a car big enough to take three children's seats, and you
need to know how to get to a car without running in three different
directions. It is always 'All hands on deck', and it can be very
draining and tiring."
So that is why, with the help of an NSM at St Denys's,
Warminster, in Salisbury diocese, the Revd Carole
Owen, she has started a twice-monthly Twins Club for parents of
twins, triplets, and other multiple siblings. "I thought it would
be good to talk to other people who completely understand," Ms
Williams says.
The idea of a support group has already been welcomed by 34
families; for it gives them a chance to meet others, and get advice
from each other. It also gives the children a chance to play with
other twins and triplets, an experience they might not often
have.
