From the Revd Dr Peter Groves

Sir, - Like the Dean of St Edmundsbury, I found the Revd Dr John Hughes's funeral mass both moving and inspiring (Letters, 18 July). I share her view that we are witnessing a renaissance in Anglo-Catholicism, and can only echo her exhortation to the Church's leadership to take note.

I am not sure, however, that her claim that that renaissance is "centred in Cambridge" tells the full story - not least because so many of the gifted young Anglo-Catholic clergy she describes, including several of John's closest friends, were sent forward for ordination training from St Mary Magdalen's, Oxford.
