Cornish Jew: Rabbi Joseph Rintel, born in Hamburg in 1809,
arrived in Falmouth, c.1832, and added to his income by
bookbinding and teaching Hebrew and German. He left for London in
1849, and died in 1867. He is one of the people who come to life in
