Cricket update

17 October 2014

THE autumn shadows lengthen, and the Editor's thoughts turn to . . . cricket. This year brought another successful season in the Church Times Cricket Cup, and a glorious final in Southgate. But several dioceses failed to raise a side, and among those that did, some struggled to field a full team for each match.

Consequently, the Editor invites team secretaries/captains and, most especially, potential secretaries/captains, to join him for a sandwich and a glass of something, orange squash possibly, possibly not, at lunchtime on Monday 10 November at or near the Church Times office in London.

The plan is to look at ways to improve the competition in 2015, and promote the benefits of playing more widely through the Church. If you can come, please email the Editor, mentioning your diocese: editor@churchtimes.co.uk.
