Pakistani Christians sentenced to death

A CHRISTIAN couple from Pakistan have been sentenced to death after being found guilty of sending a text message that allegedly insulted the Prophet Muhammad. Shafqat Emmanuel and Shagufta Kausar, from Gojra, were accused of sending the text by the local imam last year. Their lawyer told the BBC that the couple had not received a fair trial, and would appeal. 

Nigerian church welcomes Muslims

A CHURCH in northern Nigeria has held a "Friends Day Service" to build connections with the Muslim community in the town. The Evangelical Church Winning All in Tudun Nupawa held the peace-building service on Sunday, and up to 50 Muslim clerics and leaders attended. The church, based in a predominantly Muslim area, has previously donated food to needy Muslim families as a gesture of good will.
