FIVE days late, but the weather was much better when the May Day celebrations started on the May Bank Holiday in the grounds of St Peter's, Aldborough Hatch, in Chelmsford diocese. The dancers from Charma's stage school gave them a flying start round the maypole, but there were also side shows such bowling for a teddy bear, and bat the rat, and, among the stalls, the plant sale did particularly brisk business.
