Launde Abbey

PAINTING and prayer is the theme of the Creative Arts Retreats Movement (CARM) retreat at Parcevall Hall, in Skipton, North Yorkshire, from 2 to 7 September. Held at the diocese of Bradford's retreat house, it will be led by a CARM tutor and professional artist, accompanied by a chaplain.

DIP your toe into silence, or dive in deep with an individually guided retreat (IGR) at Ladywell Retreat and Spirituality Centre, in Surrey, from 10 to 19 September. Take your pick of a three-, five-, or eight-day IGR hosted by members of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood at the 80-acre site.
