TWO Church of Ireland rectors who are enthusiastic bikers have
completed a ten-day charity bike-run around Ireland.
The Revd Andrew McCroskery, of St Bartholomew's with Christ
Church, Leeson Park, Dublin, and the Revd Nigel Kirkpatrick, of
Gilnahirk parish, Belfast, wore helmets and clerical collars as
they set out earlier this month on the 1500-mile ride to every
cathedral in the Church of Ireland, in aid of the work of Us.
(formerly USPG).
At each of the 30 cathedrals, Mr Kirkpatrick and Mr McCroskery
led a service with prayers for Us., particularly its work in
Swaziland. Their route took them from Belfast to Cork, and Lisburn
to Limerick. They were joined for part of their odyssey by fellow
motorcycling enthusiasts.
