Bishops’ manners

From Mr Stephen Hogg

Sir, - In recent months, I have had cause to write to the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Archbishop of York, and the Acting Bishop of Southwell & Nottingham. I can report only that it is a waste of time.

In each case, I was seeking clarification on how the House of Bishops statement on same-sex marriage would be applied.

A reply finally came from Canterbury saying that the Archbishop was too busy to reply to the questions I asked. York has yet even to acknowledge my letter, a month after it was sent. Southwell & Nottingham replied after two reminders had been sent, advising me that the Bishop would not reply to my questions.

Is this how our bishops communicate?
