From the Bishop of St Asaph
Sir, - I am grateful to Canon Palmer for his elegant and concise answer concerning the wearing of the stole over the chasuble (Out of the Question, 7 February), but could you please forward this answer to all known television and film production companies?

Whenever the BBC or ITV show a cleric in vestments, almost invariably the cleric is wearing the stole over the chasuble - and they're not chasu-albs either. It is also true of numerous films, and always causes a passing frisson of annoyance when I see it.
