Better not to recognise divisive ACNA

Sir, - I profoundly disagree with the signatories of the letter (4 July) calling for the recognition of the Anglican Church of North America by the Church of England.

As Christians, we should expend our several energies in seeking unity and reconciliation rather than be seen to justify and approve further attempts at splintering our precious and fragile Communion by groups, either large or small, both outside the Church of England or, indeed, as in this case, within.
