Tamale Diocesan Association, Ghana
Canon Graham Morris and David Tamcken write:
THE registered charity of this name has ceased to operate, and
has been de-registered by the Charity Commission. The work of the
Tamale diocese in the neediest areas of Ghana goes on, however.
Two organisations, IDWAL (Inter-Diocesan-West-Africa-Link) from
the dioceses of Portsmouth, Winchester, and Chichester, and a small
registered charity, Ghanalink (IW), continue the work, in that both
have substantial links with the north of Ghana, and with Tamale
diocese in particular. These two organisations work closely
together, the diocese of Portsmouth having a particular link with
Ghana, and the Isle of Wight links with Sunyani and Tamale
dioceses.
Those readers who were linked with the Tamale Diocesan
Association, and would like to rekindle that link through the
above-mentioned route, and also those who would like to know more
about the work in Tamale diocese, or about either of the two
organisations, should contact Ghanalink (IW) at 12, Sibden Road,
Shanklin, Isle of Wight PO37 7NT (phone: 01983 863214 or 07581
806842; email: d.tamcken@talk21.com).
