IT IS many years since sheep were regularly driven along Bromley
High Street, in Rochester diocese, to the weekly
market, but now a fresh flock has appeared. The sheep, each of
which has a name, have taken up residence in the windows of a dozen
shops, and in each of the shops a leaflet is available that gives
the locations where the rest are to be found.
If you follow the trail, and fill in the name of each sheep, you
can detach an entry form to a prize draw, and post it into one of
the boxes in each shop. The rest of the leaflet contains the
Christmas story, and a picture of the nativity. The draw, with
prizes donated by the participating shops, will be held in St
Mary's on 22 December.
All of the sheep - however they turned out - were knitted to the
same pattern by the Mothers' Union at St Mary's. The knitting
pattern will also be available on a market stall in the High
