THE Archbishop of Canterbury has said that the Church is under "pressure to deliver" on his vow to support credit unions as a way to force payday lending companies existence ( News, 2 August).

Writing on his blog on Monday, Archbishop Welby said that, since his comments about credit unions were publicised, Lambeth Palace had been "flooded with letters and emails" that were "overwhelmingly positive".
