Petertide ordinations

06 July 2012

Paul Handley writes:

After working a series of long days, my colleague on the Gazette Desk emerged with The List - the nearest thing that exists to a definitive record of everyone ordained this Petertide. Our supplement did not come alive, though, until the photos started arriving on Monday, conveying some of the joy and optimism of these new priests and deacons, hopefully coming to a church near you.

Also in the Petertide ordinations supplement:

In an edited extract from his new book, Matthew Caminer argues that the distinctive needs of clergy husbands need to be heard.

The ordained life can too often be characterised by a kind of 'madness', says Gordon Oliver.

Joanne Grenfell draws on her experience as a mother, and on the words of St Paul, to call for a model of leadership based on tenderness and selflessness.

Haydon Spenceley is an ordinand with Cerebral Palsy, who uses a wheelchair. Finding somewhere to train and coping with the physical realities of the course have not been easy.
