WITH the option of a procession of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the crib, The Light of God’s Glory: An Epiphany carol service and Epiphany resources, for possible use until 2 February, is a new compilation in the Royal School of Church Music’s familiar service-book format by Peter Moger, Precentor of York Minster (RSCM, £7.95 (£7.20); or £5.96 to RSCM affiliates only at www.rscm.com; 978-0-85402-185-7). The service includes a blessing of baptismal water and “Renewal of the Covenant” (or baptismal vows).

Choral items are by Malcolm Archer, Richard Shephard, Ian Wicks, Thomas Hewitt Jones, David Ogden, Grayston Ives, and Andrew March. Chant responsories have more difficult alternatives by Martin How, Shephard, and Moger. Canticles (Isaiah) and new and old hymns and carols are included.
