From Barry Ferguson

Sir, — I note that a Grace thanking God for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was published on Monday 12 March (News, 16 March).

Your readers may like to know that on a panel in the medieval rood-loft gallery of St Mary’s, Atherington, north Devon, there is a resonant prayer that celebrates Queen Elizabeth I (which I have set to music): “O Lord, save thy Church, our gracious Queen Elizabeth, and send us truth and peace in Christ. Amen.”
