MEMBERS of Parliament have spoken out in support of the Archbishop of York, Dr Sentamu, after he voiced his opposition to gay marriage.

The Prime Minister announced plans to consult on legalising gay marriage at last year’s Conservative Party Conference. “Conservatives believe in the ties that bind us; that society is stronger when we make vows to each other and support each other,” he said. “So I don’t support gay marriage, despite being a Conservative. I support gay marriage because I’m a Conservative.”
