Small businesses and the Living Wage

From Professor Peter Davies and Ms Eleanor Davies
Sir, - We are the owners of a small independent bookshop in the north of England. We would welcome Dr Sentamu and Messrs Miliband and Johnson (News, 9 November), and Canon Fraser (Comment, same issue), to our shop to peruse our books and show us how we could pay a Living Wage to all our staff without either shedding some of them or losing money so that we eventually go bust.

In the mean time, perhaps Mr Miliband would do us the favour of naming and shaming us. It might help publicity and sales.
