THE family christening robe had been brought out and heavily
starched. William Gibbins, the fourth generation of his farming
family, wore it for his baptism in the font of St Andrew's,
Feniton, in Exeter diocese.
All four generations of the Gibbins family were there when
William was baptised by the Revd Cate Edmonds on Advent Sunday, and
given a candle as a symbol of the light of Christ. His mother,
Pauline, said: "Baptism is really important for us, as we feel it's
a way as parents to start our children on a good path towards God,
and [it is] also a welcoming into his family."
