From the Revd Dr R. L. Sturch

Sir, — I was very interested by Professor Sarah Foot’s article on St Alphege (Faith, 13 April). I was, however, a little surprised to find Simon of Sudbury included among Archbishops of Canterbury who died for their faith (I had always understood that he was murdered for his supposed responsibility for an oppressive poll tax), and quite astonished at the omission of Thomas Cranmer.
