THE exhibition "Presence of Angels", in the Scottish Episcopal
Church of the Good Shepherd, in Edinburgh, proved
so popular that the Rector, the Revd Dean Fostekew, decided to
extend it for a third week. They were celebrating October as the
month of Guardian Angels, and more than 150 of them filled the
church. They ranged from pocket- to life-sized, and were designed
by Carmen Foamete, a member of the congregation.
The Good Shepherd held a Festival of Spirituality and Peace in
August, when people were invited into the church garden to
experience it as a place of contemplation and prayer. Mr Fostekew
believes that people who visited "Presence of Angels" encountered
angels in many spiritual ways. He hopes that the exhibition was
able to build on the same journey of prayer and spiritual
renewal.
