From the Revd Chris Goble

Sir, — I wonder how many people have seen the King James Bible that the Secretary of State has sent to schools. I totally applaud Bibles in schools. This, however, is a facsimile of the Bible from 400 years ago, which may be fascinating for scholarship, but wouldn’t, I presume, be much use for reading.

The true test is impact on pupils. I wonder if any research will be done. I would have preferred a smaller, cheaper, easier-to-read edition for every classroom (not one per school).
