In the marketplace

14 December 2012

THE Dean of Liverpool, the Very Revd Peter Wilcox (far right), joined a team of handbell-ringers to announce the launch of the Cathedral Shop stall in the Christmas market in Liverpool city centre. They were led by the cathedral Ringing Master, Len Mitchell, in ringing some Christmas carols.

The market is in the aptly named Church Street, and the stall is on a prime site next to the Christmas tree. It will be open every day until 22 December, with a wide range of Christmas gifts, many of them with the theme of Liverpool or the cathedral. Very popular are the nativity sets, specially designed decorations, and cathedral Christmas cards. There are also brochures about the cathedral's Christmas services, carol services, and other events. And, of course, the Cathedral Shop is also open, with an even wider range of gifts and nativity sets.
