TUOMO MANNERMAA's Two Kinds of Love: Martin Luther's religious world has been translated from Finnish into American English by Kirsi Stjerna. He argues that Luther's theology is about more than faith alone, and that love is the true key to understanding him and his work, which had a profound effect on the Protestant Church in Finland (Fortress Press/Alban, £12.99 (£11.70); 978-0-8006-9707-5).

Brian Lugioyo takes issue with the familiar interpretation of the Strasbourg Reformer Martin Bucer that he desires unity above all else, even the truth. Instead, he argues that Martin Bucer's Doctrine of Justification is consistent and coherent, and an accepted understanding of this doctrine (OUP, £47.50 (£42.75); 978-0-19-538736-0).
