THE guidelines Liturgical Space and Church Re-ordering: Issues of good practice are issued on the authority of the Irish General Synod (Church of Ireland Liturgical Advisory Committee, £5; 978-1-904884-34-7).

IAN MARKHAM and Suendam Birinci Pirim have written An Introduction to Said Nursi: Life, thought and writings. There are two main sections: the first looks at the life, theology, and spirituality of Nursi, a Sunni Muslim theologian (1878-1960) who wrote a body of Qur'anic commentary exceeding 6000 pages; the second is a collection of extracts from his work. The authors hope to inspire greater study of mainstream Islamic movements, as opposed to smaller, perhaps better-known ones (Ashgate, £17.99 (£16.20); 978-1-4094-0771-3).
