The French Hospital, Old Street, Finsbury, c.1860, artist unknown (above), and an engraving (below) by Thomas Trotter, 1787, of the Revd Jacques Saurin, one of the réfugié Calvinist pastors from France; his brother, Louis, presided over the committee that had the Hospital built. This building has gone, and the Hospital has moved more than once; now it provides sheltered housing in Rochester. From the book, an account by two scholars, directors of the Hospital.
